OUR TEAM - Guesthouse Riesengebirge

Head chef Hans Schneider
In 1984 Hans Schneider has done an apprenticeship at the star restaurant “Bammes” administrated by a celebrity chef. During this time the restaurant “Bammes” was one of the 100 best restaurants in Germany and was decorated by Michelin, Gault Miliau and Varta.
For his great final test result Mr. Schneider earned the state award and later again for his examination for the master´s certificate.

After two years working as a demi chef at the hotel Bachmaier Weissach next to the Tegernsee, he and his wife had the courage to got self-employed at the age of 20. What started with a small hotel-restaurant in upper Franconia was continued between 1995 and 2009 with the obvious larger Guesthouse Gentner Moorenbrunn which became a bis success. During this time 30 apprentices passed their final tests- which means a 100 % success rate.

Since September 2009 Hans Schneider administrates together with his wife and a team of 20 people the business of the Guesthouse Riesengebirge a.d. Zenn. Today Christine Schneider mainly takes care of the hotel and the service area. In addition she is dedicated to scenery which is shown in lovely and professional decorated guest-and functionrooms.

Kitchen / Service / Hotel
In our house there are 20 people taking care of our guests needs and wishes- no matter if it´s 6.00 in the morning or late evening. Our kitchen team consisting of 5 accomplished chefs and some in training will treat you to some fine food.
Our housekeeping team guarantees you spick and span guestrooms. So you can recover and feel like home far away from home.

Best local products guarantee you high quality
For our breakfast buffet we order our breads, rolls, cakes and pastries daily at a local bakery. We source our vegetables, salads and herbs from the “Knoblauchsland” which is a local growing area around Nuremberg. Carps and trouts are from local waters, meat from Bavarian breedings and game from local forests. In addition we serve Franconian wines and noble brandys from the local distillery Haas. These are all reasons why you can expect the highest quality possible. Regarding our beer we offer smooth bitter Tucher Pilsener, Tucher wheat-beer, Tucher countrystyle beer as well as season specialities as Tucher Christmasbeer.
